As the Senior Manager – Safety & Wellbeing (HSE) for ANZ & APAC, you will play a critical leadership role in shaping, embedding, and advancing a world-class safety culture across Australia, New Zealand, and broader APAC regions including Macau and India.

This role goes beyond compliance—you will act as a strategic partner to the business, driving proactive risk management, operational excellence, and continuous improvement in health, safety, and wellbeing outcomes. You will influence leaders at all levels, ensuring safety is deeply integrated into how we work, innovate, and grow

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Culture

  • Partner with senior leadership to define and execute a forward-looking HSE strategy aligned to business objectives.

  • Champion a high-performance safety culture that prioritizes psychological safety, wellbeing, and proactive risk management.

  • Act as a trusted advisor to executives and regional leaders on HSE risks, trends, and opportunities.

  • Foster strong employee engagement through safety campaigns, communications, and recognition programs.

  • Drive leadership accountability and capability in safety through coaching, mentoring, and performance frameworks

Governance, Risk & Compliance

  • Ensure full compliance with all relevant HSE legislation, standards, and regulatory requirements across ANZ & APAC.

  • Establish and maintain robust governance frameworks, policies, and standards to ensure consistency and best practice.

  • Lead enterprise-wide risk identification, assessment, and mitigation strategies, including critical risk management.

  • Oversee internal and external audit programs, ensuring timely closure of actions and continuous improvement.

  • Drive maturity of HSE systems through data-led insights, benchmarking, and adoption of global best practices

Data, Reporting & Insights

  • Analyze trends to identify emerging risks and opportunities, informing strategic decision-making.

  • Report performance to senior leadership and key stakeholders, driving transparency and accountability.

                                                                                              

Specialized Programs & Regional Oversight

  • Lead regional initiatives such as Vehicle Risk Reduction, contractor safety, and workplace wellbeing programs.

  • Provide oversight and guidance across multiple sites and countries, ensuring alignment with global standards while respecting local requirements.

  • Collaborate with global HSE team to share best practices and drive consistency across regions

  • Strong leadership engagement and accountability for safety outcomes.

  • Robust, scalable HSE systems aligned with global best practices.

What We’re Looking For

  • 8+ years of progressive experience in HSE leadership roles within large, complex, matrix organizations.

  • Demonstrated experience operating across ANZ & APAC regions with strong knowledge of local legislation and regulatory frameworks.

  • Proven ability to influence and engage senior stakeholders and drive cultural transformation.

  • Expertise in risk management, incident investigation methodologies, and HSE management systems.

  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to align safety outcomes to business performance.

  • Advanced analytical skills with experience leveraging data to drive insights and decision-making.

  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Experience leading change initiatives and embedding continuous improvement practices.

  • Relevant qualifications in Health & Safety, Environmental Management, or related disciplines.

  • Relevant certifications (e.g. CSP, NEBOSH, ISO 45001) preferred
