Health and Safety Advisor - Multisite

At Real Pet Food, safety isn’t a policy—it’s how we operate. We’re looking for a Health & Safety Advisor who genuinely cares about people, thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, and wants to build a long-term career in safety.

This is not a desk-based compliance role. This is a hands-on, site-embedded position where you’ll be the face of safety across our Yatala wet manufacturing site and Wulkuraka Game Meat Processing site.

You’ll partner with leaders and frontline teams to shift mindsets, influence behaviours, and embed a proactive safety culture that goes beyond ticking boxes.

What you’ll be doing

• Be the visible leader of safety on site—coaching, influencing, and building trust across all levels

• Develop, implement and continuously improve a standardised, compliant and efficient WHS system

• Take a risk-based approach to safety, focusing on prevention, not reaction

• Drive performance across key metrics, including:

  • Lead indicators: hazards raised/actioned, corrective actions, audit outcomes

  • Lag indicators: LTI, LTIFR, TRIFR

  • Workers compensation claims, engagement, and training compliance

• Partner with operations to embed safety into daily routines, not bolt it on

• Support leaders to win the hearts and minds of employees when it comes to safety

• Maintain a strong on-floor presence across shifts when required. We are a site that operates 24/5 and there may be times you need to work outside of the 9-5

What we’re looking for

• A genuine passion for a career in Health & Safety—this is more than just a job for you

• Experience in food manufacturing, FMCG, or similarly fast-paced industrial environments

• Comfortable working in environments that can be ambiguous, complex and evolving

• Resilient, adaptable, and confident influencing at all levels

• Someone who is hands-on, visible and proactive, not reactive

• Strong stakeholder engagement skills—you can challenge, coach and bring people with you

• Ability to manage competing priorities and stay focused on what matters most: people going home safe

What you need to know

• You’ll work across Yatala and Wulkuraka, with occasional interstate travel

• You’ll be expected to flex your hours to engage across different shifts

• This role requires someone who is comfortable being on-site, on the floor, and in the detail
