About the Role:
MSS Security is seeking casual and full-time Security Officers for our research center located in Bundoora. This role operates on a 24/7 rotational roster and involves responsibilities as a Roving Security Officer.
 

The role is classified at a Level 3 pay rate, in accordance with the Security Victorian EA.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Support compliance with biosecurity, health, and safety protocols within the research centre.
• Conduct full site patrols, including internal and external areas, carparks, and Controlled Environment Rooms.
• Perform basic control room duties, including access control via the Honeywell EBI Security System, intercom operation, and answering calls.
• Manage access for authorised facility users and issue visitor/contractor passes, ensuring compliance with security protocols.
• Provide reception support, including relieving the receptionist during lunch breaks, answering telephone calls, and assisting facility users and visitors.
   

Requirements:

• Full Australian Working Rights
• A valid Victorian Security License (Control Room License preferred but not essential)
• First Aid & CPR (Or willing to obtain)
• Flexible availability to work across a 24-hour rotating roster, including weekends
• Must be physically capable of completing patrols across the site, which involve sustained walking for up to one hour
• Following training, able to safely conduct independent external patrols of the centre at night
• Willingness to complete online inductions, including SSBA training and other relevant research centre-specific inductions
• Basic computer skills
