Job Summary
As a Security Engineering – Senior Engineer, you are an expert in the Information, Engineering and Cyber Security domains, applying your extensive knowledge in security technologies, cloud and corporate networks to shape the security controls required within solution designs (both people, process and technical) and identify, communicate and help treat corresponding security risks.
Through your strong knowledge of existing and emerging technology, you are able deliver a superior security and network experience for our consumers. You do this by drawing on your deep levels of cyber security and engineering knowledge and experience to provide specialist analysis, design, development and deployment in Network and IT specific technology domains.
You play a pivotal role in shaping our technology strategy and protecting Telstra’s assets, acting as a trusted adviser to our people, teams, cyber, engineering and DevOps leaders to build our cyber capability.

What You’ll Do
Lead end-to-end analysis, design, development, integration, deployment, and support of Identity & Access Governance (IGA) solutions using SailPoint IIQ.
Guide and mentor identity engineers while leading SailPoint integrations with Telstra’s internal applications, with a strong focus on automation and scalability.
Drive integration, configuration, and implementation of IGA solutions, leveraging out-of-the-box SailPoint capabilities for rapid application onboarding.
Analyse identity and access requirements and provide effective, compliant solutions during application onboarding for staff, contractors, and partners.
Prepare detailed deployment and production run books for SailPoint integrations and releases.
Maintain end-to-end traceability across requirements, design, testing, and delivery to ensure compliance with security standards and audit needs.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams in an Agile delivery model, showcasing solutions and incorporating feedback to continuously improve outcomes.
About You
Demonstrate strong hands-on expertise in SailPoint IIQ, including workflows, forms, access rules, connectors, APIs, and standard build frameworks.
Deliver highly automated, user-friendly identity solutions across on‑prem and cloud environments (AWS, Azure, Kubernetes).
Apply solid engineering skills across Java/J2EE, databases (MySQL, Oracle), Unix scripting, CI/CD pipelines, and directory services (AD, Azure AD, LDAP).
Exhibit working knowledge of broader IGA and IAM ecosystems, including tools like Oracle Identity Manager, RSA IGL, Entra ID, and Zero Trust concepts.
Work confidently with DevOps and cloud-native tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Bamboo, Git, and monitoring platforms.
Apply strong problem-solving skills, identifying root causes and delivering scalable, sustainable solutions.
Communicate clearly and influence stakeholders by adapting messaging to technical and non‑technical audiences.
Operate as a senior contributor who upholds security best practices, governance standards, and continuous improvement.
