We are seeking an experienced Safety Advisor to support and strengthen a practical, safety first culture across our Distribution Centre operations.
This role is highly visible and operationally focused, partnering closely with leaders, frontline teams, HSRs and key stakeholders. You will provide trusted advice, coaching and support while ensuring legislative compliance, effective risk management and continuous improvement in health, safety and wellbeing.

Your Impact at Avalon DC you will:
Embed a strong safety culture by coaching leaders and frontline teams to proactively identify hazards, apply safe ways of working and make sound safety‑focused decisions.
Develop, implement and maintain OHS systems and documentation, including risk assessments, audits, safe work procedures and compliance processes.
Lead and support incident, injury and near‑miss management, including investigations, corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
Deliver engaging safety training and initiatives, partnering with Learning & Development to build capability across the site.
Monitor WHS legislation and compliance requirements, assessing impacts to operations and supporting regulator engagement and assurance activities.
Support wellbeing and engagement initiatives, including safety walks, toolbox talks, OHS committees and acting as a Mental Health First Aider where required.
You are a confident, approachable safety professional who enjoys being hands‑on and making an impact. You bring:
2–3+ years’ experience in a Health & Safety role, ideally within transport, logistics, warehousing or distribution environments
Strong working knowledge of WHS legislation, standards and codes of practice
Experience in auditing, risk management and incident investigation
The ability to build trusted relationships and influence at all levels
Excellent communication, organisation and problem‑solving skills
A practical, hands‑on and solutions‑focused approach to safety
The ability to work autonomously while collaborating effectively with teams
Certificate IV or higher in Work Health & Safety (desirable)
Willingness to travel occasionally to interstate sites if require
