About the Role

Aegis Health Murdoch is seeking a professional and proactive Hospital Security Officer to join our Building Services team. This role is essential in maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

You will provide a strong and visible security presence across the hospital and surrounding grounds, respond to emergency situations, and deliver exceptional customer service as a key point of contact within the hospital.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain a visible security presence through proactive patrols and monitoring of hospital grounds and CCTV systems.
  • Respond effectively to emergency situations, including Code Black and Code Red incidents.
  • Manage and de-escalate aggressive or high-risk situations with professionalism and care.
  • Liaise with emergency services including Police and Fire Brigade when required.
  • Investigate and report incidents, contributing to safety and quality improvement processes.
  • Provide excellent customer service, assisting patients and visitors with directions and enquiries.
  • Support building and facility operations including contractor management and access control.
  • Assist with maintenance coordination and general facility support tasks.
  • Participate in hospital events and provide security support as needed.

About You

The role requires a calm, confident, and approachable security professional with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to respond effectively under pressure. Someone that takes pride in maintaining a safe environment while delivering outstanding service.

Essential Criteria

  • Certificate II in Security Operations (or higher).
  • Demonstrated experience in a healthcare or similar environment.
  • Proven ability to manage and de-escalate conflict and high-risk situations.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Competency in electronic security systems and fire systems.
  • Sound IT skills, including MS Office.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
  • High standard of professionalism and presentation.

Desirable

  • Experience in the private healthcare sector.
  • Current driver’s licence (C or C-A class).
  • Current Senior First Aid Certificate.
