About the Role

MSS Security is looking for a Full Time Security Officer to work at a major shopping centre in Shellharbour. This role will see you working across a 24/7 rotating roster and requires flexibility to work days, nights, weekends and public holidays.

This position is primarily responsible for providing a strong security presence whilst remaining alert, proactive and customer focused. This is a predominantly roving role, conducting regular patrols throughout the shopping centre to ensure the safety of retailers, staff and members of the public. You will be part of an enthusiastic, committed and customer focused team and will build strong relationships with centre management and retail stakeholders.

This role is classified as Level 2, with a base rate of $27.91 per hour + superannuation + applicable shift loading.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Shopping centre security operations

• Roving foot patrols (internal and external)

• Access control and monitoring CCTV

• Respond professionally, courteously and promptly to all incidents and customer enquiries

• Incident reporting and liaising with emergency services where required

• Direct and escort contractors, visitors and stakeholders

• Monitoring and securing loading docks and back-of-house areas

• Providing exceptional customer service to tenants and members of the public

Skills and Experience:

• Certificate II in Security Operations and current First Aid Certificate

• Current NSW Security Licence

• Previous shopping centre or patrolling experience (desirable)

• Availability to work a 24/7 rotating roster

• Dedication, reliability and a commitment to security

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• The ability to work with minimal supervision and within a team environment

• Integrity and sound judgement
