Join the Faculty of Medicine and Health (FMH) and play a key role in delivering high-quality events that bring people together to celebrate, collaborate, and innovate in health education and research.

We’re looking for an experienced and proactive Events Officer to support the planning and delivery of a diverse portfolio of events, from prize giving and formal functions to engaging online experiences. Working within the Internal Communications and Engagement team, you’ll help create memorable, well-executed events that reflect the Faculty’s excellence.

In this dynamic position, you will take ownership of end-to-end event coordination, ensuring each event is delivered to a professional standard and aligned with stakeholder expectations. You’ll work across multiple projects, applying your expertise and initiative to solve problems, manage logistics, and continuously improve outcomes.

This role also includes administering the Faculty’s reward and recognition program, helping celebrate the achievements of staff and students.

Location: Camperdown campus (with occasional travel to Westmead, Concord, and North Sydney)

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • coordinate and deliver a diverse program of in-person and virtual events
  • manage multiple projects, timelines, and competing priorities
  • develop event content, run sheets, and speaker briefing materials
  • create and distribute event communications and promotion (invitations, registration pages, digital signage, presentations) in line with brand guidelines
  • implement creative strategies to enhance audience engagement
  • gather feedback and produce post-event reports to drive continuous improvement
  • administer the Faculty’s reward and recognition program
  • build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, suppliers, and service providers
  • support additional projects and team initiatives as required

About you

You’re a highly organised events professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys delivering exceptional experiences. You bring:

  • project and time management skills, with keen attention to detail
  • proven experience coordinating events, conferences, or programs (health, government, education, or corporate sectors)
  • experience managing vendors and service providers
  • the ability to stay calm under pressure and juggle multiple deadlines
  • administrative and Microsoft Office skills including Excel and SharePoint
  • familiarity with audiovisual equipment and event tech
  • excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • customer-focused mindset and ability to handle diverse enquiries
  • experience with EmmaHQ (desirable)
